what is your carbon emission vision?
Green Worldwide Shipping is deeply committed to long-term sustainability and understands the impact international supply chains have on the environment.
THAT’S WHY WE’VE CREATED AN EASY-TO-IMPLEMENT CARBON OFFSET PROGRAM THAT IS PERFECT FOR SHIPPERS OF ALL SIZES.
carbon neutral goals?
Climate neutrality of products and services is a hot topic for businesses trying to appeal to a growing sustainability trend: they understand consumers want to do the right thing without completely changing their way of life or purchasing habits. When companies actively engage in climate protection programs, they enable their customers to make climate-conscious decisions by assuming responsibility for unavoidable emissions and offsetting them through specific environmental contributions.
From food producers to home goods to machinery components – any industry can now offset their product’s carbon emission and take advantage of this charitable opportunity.
WHAT IS CARBON OFFSETTING?
Carbon offsetting is when a company decides to purchase credits associated with environmental projects that reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (or other greenhouse gases) as a way of offsetting the company’s carbon emissions.
how do we do it?
1 | calculate
The first step to any carbon reducing program is calculation. Green works with your logistics team to gather, define, and calculate the carbon emissions resulting from the transportation of your product.
2 | offset
After calculation, Green will present you with reporting that breaks down your supply chain’s carbon footprint and provide neutralizing offset programs that allow you to choose the charity that aligns best for your organization. From tree planting to ocean cleanup, Green has you covered.
3 | optimize
Once implemented, Green can review your carbon emissions activity on an on-going basis, eliminate high-emission routings and provide strategic sourcing solutions by mode, trade lane, and carrier for year-over-year progress.
4 | breathe
And know that your contribution is a much needed step towards environmental responsibility!
Greenhouse gases, such as CO2, are distributed evenly throughout the Earth’s the atmosphere, making their concentration roughly the same all over the world.
Carbon offset projects contribute directly in the effort to increase the amount of oxygen added to offset CO2 emission. Carbon offset programs can range from forest conservation, reforestation or the development of renewable energy. In addition, carbon offset projects often promote sustainable development in the region they are done – for example, by improving access to clean drinking water, expanding local infrastructure, creating jobs or preserving biodiversity.
GREENHOUSE GAS PROTOCOL
The GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard provides requirements and guidance for companies and other organizations preparing a GHG emissions inventory. The GHG Protocol is the internationally recognized standard for greenhouse gas accounting on the corporate level. It was developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
REPORTED GREENHOUSE GASES
The present Corporate Carbon Footprint discloses all emissions as CO2 equivalents (CO2e) and includes six other greenhouse gases regulated by the Kyoto Protocol:
NITROUS OXIDE (N2O)
SULFUR HEXAFLOURIDE (SF6)
NITROGEN TRIFLOURIDE (NF3)
