Union Pacific Service Disruption

Union Pacific (UP) experienced a mainline service disruption on Jan 24th. The disruption occurred near Santa Rosa, NM leading UP to temporarily suspend service between the ports of LA/Long Beach and Council Bluffs, Kansas City, Chicago (Global 4), and Chicago (Ohio Valley) until further notice.

SERVICE DISRUPTION IMPACTS UP MAINLINE

The incident is only impacting UP’s network other carriers are not currently affected. Reroute options are limited but some traffic currently can be rerouted north over the UP’s central corridor. At this time further details are unknown, and Green will continue to monitor and revert with updates and estimated time of opening (ETO) once information becomes available.

Temporary ingate suspensions will go into effect for the following lanes:

Eastbound Service:

  • ICTF: Intermodal Container Transfer Facility, Long Beach CA
  • TCIT: Twin Cities Intermodal Terminal, Minneapolis MN
  • IEIT: Inland Empire Intermodal Terminal, Fontana CA
  • LATC: Los Angeles Trailer and Container Intermodal Facility, Los Angeles CA
  • STIR: Santa Teresa Intermodal Terminal, Santa Teresa NM

Westbound Service:

  • Chicago local (G4) to City of Industry
  • Chicago local (G4) to ICTF and all shipments destined to the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles
  • Chicago local (G4) to IEIT
  • Chicago local (G4) to El Paso and Nogales interchange destinations
  • Chicago local (G4) to STIR
  • Chicago local (G4) to Tucson
  • Chicago local (G4) to all Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles marine terminals
  • Kansas City to ICTF and all shipments destined to the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles
