In May of this year, Green Worldwide Shipping®, a top provider of international supply chain logistics, successfully launched Green Academy, the Company’s two-year development program offered at Green’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
The rotational program, designed to emulate a traditional European apprenticeship, focuses on development opportunities across Green Worldwide’s business segments. Each six-month rotation provides trainees with a full range of experience in building skills to advance their career in logistics.
Academy trainees engage in four main business operations:
- ACCOUNTING
- IMPORTS
- EXPORTS
- SALES & MARKETING
Green Academy’s first trainee, Timothy Whelan, has prosperously completed his first rotation of four in Accounting, and has moved on to learning Import business operations. His successor, Blaise Love, who began the program just a few weeks after Whelan, is excited to continue onto the Import rotation on December 1st.
While completing each rotation, trainees work with team leads to leverage Green’s unique data assets and cutting-edge technologies to efficiently solve analytical problems. Once a trainee has completed the two-year program, they will be placed in a managerial role in the field of their choice, at one of Green’s 12 offices (depending on availability).
