Under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) cotton, tomato products, and polysilicon are identified as high-risk sectors and have stronger enforcement for review.  In a recent development, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has begun issuing detention notices against aluminum products.

UFLPA ALUMINUM IMPORTS

It is essential to stay informed of CBP enforcement trends and be proactive in ensuring compliance with the UFLPA.  Companies importing aluminum products, or commodities with aluminum components originating from Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) need to be prepared in case of any inquiry.

Importers must be able to trace the complete supply chain of the product, providing certificates of origin, commercial invoices, and production records if requested by CBP.
