Green Worldwide Shipping® has joined the SmartWay® Transport Partnership, an innovative collaboration between U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the logistics industry that provides a framework to assess the environmental and energy efficiency of goods movement supply chains.

The SmartWay program helps freight shippers, carriers, logistics companies and other stakeholders to measure, benchmark and improve supply chain transportation operations to reduce their environmental footprint.

Along with thousands of other SmartWay Partners, Green is committed to improving freight efficiency and its environmental impacts worldwide.

“I’m proud to have Green’s sustainability leadership recognized through our SmartWay Transport Partnership. More than that, I’m excited to use our participation to accelerate our own decarbonization efforts and those of the logistics sector.”
Anne Shudy Palmer, Director of Sustainability | Green Worldwide Shipping®

Green Worldwide Shipping will contribute to the Partnership’s support of the American economy, the global climate, and human health with its savings to date of 379 million barrels of oil, $52 billion on fuel costs, 162 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), 2.8 million short tons of nitrous oxide (NOx), and 114,000 short tons of particulate matter (PM).

Green’s SmartWay partnership complements the Company’s greater sustainability mission, initiatives, and partnerships, such as; Smart Freight Centre (SFC), UN Global Compact (UNGC), Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), and the Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA). Green’s proprietary GreenCheck Scope 3 transport emissions technology, launched in 2023, helps U.S. businesses map, measure, and create directed mitigation plans to achieve emissions reduction goals.
