FDA COSMETICS REGISTRATION AND LISTING REQUIREMENTS DELAYED UNTIL JULY 1, 2024
In a recent Guidance Statement, the FDA stated it plans to delay the implementation of cosmetics registration and listing requirements that were initially slated for the end of this year to July 1, 2024, citing industry concerns about the need for more time to gather necessary information. In response, the FDA is finalizing a guidance document that includes submission instructions and developing an electronic portal, Cosmetics Direct, to facilitate streamlined submissions.
While the FDA encourages meeting the statutory deadline of December 29, 2023, it won’t enforce requirements until July 1, 2024, providing additional time for compliance.
