COMMITMENT IN ACTION: SUSTAINABILITY AS A CULTURE
Green Worldwide Shipping is proud of our longstanding partnership with Trees for the Future (TREES). Since, 2019, Green has planted a tree automatically, for every shipment, customer, and employee to combat deforestation and promote sustainable development. Through this partnership, we’ve supported programs that equip farmers with training and materials to build climate-resilient farms—planting more than 635,437 trees to date. Green is pleased to share the results of our 2024 support, which is helping combat the desertification of the Sahel region in Africa.
GREEN’S 2024 TREES DONATIONS AT WORK
Mali and the Gambia are part of the Sahel – a semi-arid region. Countries within the Sahel region are losing farmable land due to climate change and diminishing rainfall. Through our partnership with TREES, Green proudly supported agroforestry via the planting of 89,905 trees in 2024 across farming communities within the Sahel such as Mali and The Gambia.
Not only does the use of an agroforestry approach improve soil health, prevent erosion, and mitigate deforestation – common in the Sahel region, it also builds climate-resilient farms that benefit the farmers, boost local economies, and support the environment.
In 2024, Green’s donations helped advance four active projects:
- Mali: Kays 1, Koulikoro 2, and Kita 2
- The Gambia: Gambia Rising
Across these projects, Green’s 2024 donations helped to:
- Plant 89,905 trees.
- Train 35 farmers in sustainable farming practices.
- Support 476 individuals and 884 farming families.
- Restore degraded land while strengthening local food networks.
2024 MILESTONE: TREES RECEIVES UN RECOGNITION
Last year, TREES was honored as a United Nations World Restoration Flagship, recognizing the work it has undertaken alongside farmers, partners, and supporters around the world.

TREES is a well-respected 501(C)(3) non-profit that focuses on planting trees for poverty alleviation, hunger eradication, and environmental healing. Since 1989, TREES has planted over 404 million trees and restored nearly 142,000 acres, positively impacting the lives of over 527,00 individuals.
